MediaTek Has A New Game Changer
MediaTek New Chip
With a new high-end phone processor, the Dimensity
9000+, MediaTek is poised to make a strong push into the 4nm chip market. Manufactured by TSMC, the Semiconductor
company's chip has more computational and graphic performance than their previous chips. MediaTek launched its new
chip on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Designated as the Dimensity 9000+,
it will compete directly against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 system-on-chip (SoC). It's supposedly more energy-efficient than Korean giant Samsung’s chip.
Here are some details to satisfy your curiousity:
- Arm’s v9 CPU architecture with a 4nm octa-core process
- One ultra-Cortex-X2 core operating at up to 3.2GHz
- Three super Cortex-A710 cores operating at a speed of up to 2.85GHz
- Four efficiency Cortex-A510 cores
- Support for Wi-Fi 6E
- New Bluetooth 5.3
- Support for 144Hz WQHD+ displays or 180Hz Full HD+ displays
- Built In Arm Mali-G710 MC10 graphics processor
- Features support for LPDDR5X storage of up to 7500Mbps storage
- 6MB of system cache
The chip also features new imaging tech, up to 320 million pixels. With three cameras supporting 18-bit HDR video, as well as static image capture.
MediaTek states that there will be a 5% boost in CPU performance, as well as a 10% graphics handling.
MediaTek has other impressive features said to be included. One being the ability to capture vidio on all three cameras
simultaneously. 4K video with AI noise reduction for better quality videos, they've upgraded power efficiency by a factor
of 4 by integrating their fifth generation Application Processor Unit (APU 5.0)
