The $1,000 foldable Huawei Pura X features a larger screen than the majority of smartphones

A very compact design that’s been missing from the market

The $1,000 foldable Huawei Pura X features a larger screen than the majority of smartphones

The Pura X is a foldable smartphone that Huawei revealed in an effort to create a competitive alternative to Apple's iOS and Google's Android. HarmonyOS 5, the tech giant's own operating system, is being used for the first time. It begins out as a small, square, 3.5-inch screen that gives you the rapid overview of the data you require. When opened, it enlarges to a 16:10 ratio, 6.3-inch screen. It truly has a larger screen than the majority of modern smartphones. On March 20, 2025, it was released as a single configuration with this type of design. Although Motorola released a smart-flip phone of its own, it falls short of Huawei's wildly expansive design.

When the Huawei Pura X is folded, it is very compact.

Under the hood, it is an impressive device

The design and internal parts are definitely compatible with contemporary cellphones. First of all, its metal frame is a strong and sturdy construction. It has a resolution of 1,320 x 2,120 with HDR Vivid when it is unfolded. The screen's lighting is superb at 2,500 nits and 120 Hz. In my opinion, the side-mounted fingerprint reader is more useful for an intuitive interface, even though it does not have the well-liked under-screen reader.

There are five colors available for Pura X: gray, white, black, red, and yellow.

Huawei has brought on an in-house helper

Google Assistant, Apple Siri and the not seen or heard of for a while Cortana, now Microsoft Copilot, are the established virtual assistant on smartphones but Huawei has its own. Here comes Huawei's in-house AI assistant, Xiaoyi, on other devices outside of China it is Celia. Developed, in conjunction with DeepSeek, well known for creating an AI chatbot app, It was created shortly after the United States prohibited Google from collaborating with Huawei.

The Pura X form factor is a uniquely stylish that's user-friendly.

A new OS from a giant

Like its AI assistant, HarmonyOS 5 (previously HarmonyOS Next) was developed when Google was compelled to withdraw its presence from Huawei's smart devices due to a U.S. penalty. Right now, the only information we have is from Huawei's press release because we don't have any firsthand experience with the operating system. Its sturdy design, however, provides you with all the features you are currently familiar with from Google Android.
